You really can't judge a book by its cover

I am 3 days away from being done school forever!!! (hopefully... unless i plan on doing another degree or doing my masters?). I have been at a clinic at the Childrens Hospital for the past 3 months and it has been an amazing experience. I remember the first week I was there, I saw this MD who was tall, wore glasses, was kind of chubby, didnt smile, didnt say thank you, didnt look nice at all, and kind of intimadating. I always wondered if kids were afraid of him? and whenever he talked about scientific things I would always be like "HUH???" but as time passed and I worked with him in the clinic more he sort of became a difference person. I found out a little bit more about this tall, chubby man who didnt smile or say thank you. He began to smile (and even laugh at times) and he didnt seem so intimidating. I found out he loved ginger bread cookies as he would buy a bag everyday from the store downstairs. He was the one who has been offering me many gingerbread cookies the past couple weeks as the holidays inch closer to us. I was pretty shocked the first time he offered me one? I didnt know he knew I existed, nor did I think he would share :P! haha I guess it just shows that you really can't judge a book by its cover. I found out this man is a brillent MD and scientist who does smile and say thank you! Haha so over the weekend, I decided make my own gingerbread men for him. So this morning when I got to work, I was a little disappointed he didnt have a clinic today and wasnt going to be around :(.... but when it was almost time for me to go home, he all the sudden appears so I grabbed him and dragged him to my bag of gingerbread men! haha he musta thought i was really weird! But he looked amused and followed me and found out there was a bag of his favorite cookies waiting for him! He said they tasted good (which im sure they didnt compared to the store bought ones but oh well hes just being nice) and thanked me. It felt nice to do something nice back. Keeps me in the holiday spirit! This man just showed me that you cant judge a book by its cover (or a person just by taking one look at them).

My weekend

I really wanted to see Harry on Friday but then it was all sold out! So we ended up going to a Jap restaurant for spicy ramen and butterfish tataki. The tataki was interesting, as it was smooth and buttery fish topped with daikon, bean sprouts, fried garlic on a kimchi based sauce. I can't say I loved it, but it was interesting and I could taste all the thought and creativity that was put into it (if that makes any sense).

This was super "louw" and filling probably cuz theres soooo much spicy oil on it!

Then on Saturday, I took advantage of Starbucks BOGO deal on Christmas drinks and we got a peppermint mocha and peppermint hot chocolate. The peppermint mocha was soooo good! Much better than the hot chocolate! I didnt manage to go skating with a nice hot cup of peppermint mocha with me as it was -30 degree weather here! but we did walked around the mall which was still pretty nice!

At night, we went to another hotpot! haha and I tried on all these helmets! haha the yellow one reminds me of keroro!
Keroro???

Iron Man!
I think this is darth vader??

The rest of the weekend I worked and put together a presentation that I did today!
Hope you enjoyed your weekend!

WTF Gucci?!

WTF GG!? I used to love your brand and everything you made. But in the past 2-3 years you have totally disappointed me and now THIS?? If i remember correctly this bag costed me like 700$ and I've only had it for maybe 2 years and used it less than 20 times?! Why is it falling apart? I treat my bags like they're my babies, I give them a good clean every so often and make sure they do not get hurt! For a 700$ bag, the straps should not be coming apart! :(! Im ++++++ disappointed in you GUCCI!

Unexpected treat

(Lindt Lindor Dark Truffle, Ferrero Garden)
Today started off being pretty bad. I woke up super groggy cuz I just didnt sleep enough last night and then on my way to the car I slipped and fell on the ice >< and hurt my leg. No big injuries but my bum got all wet and its probably bruised. So that didn't start very well and I wasn't looking forward to like 6 hours of presentations I was about to attend this morning. Anyways, on to the good part...so the presentations didn't turn out that bad, they were quite interesting and after a bit of coffee I managed to stay awake through all of them! Then during lunch, a resident who sat next to me gave me his only Lindt truffle from his lunch! I wonder if he saw me eyeing his dark lindor truffle? But it was a nice treat and made my day because I didn't even ask :)! I just luv unexpected treats even if its just one choc :D!

Do you like Lindt chocolate and if so which kinds your favorite?

Applying Blush According to Your Face Shape

We all have different shaped faces and we can be catagorized into 5 types
1. Round
2. Square
3. Heart
4. Long
5. Oval

Round: to thin the face. Apply the brighter blush to the apples of your cheeks, "but don't go in any closer to the nose than under your iris, or you'll get that Raggedy Ann look." Dust the contour shade below the cheekbone down to the chin line and blend.

Square: to soften the angles. Concentrate the brighter color at the apple, then brush it up and out to the temples to give your face a little lift. to round out your face, dust the contour shade from your chin to the middle of your ear along the underside of the cheekbone.

Heart: to soften the chin. Apply blush to the lower part of the apple. Instead of contouring, blend a liquid highlighter around the chin and along the jawbone. The highlighter will give your face more balance.

Long: to widen the face. Brush the brighter blush on the apple and extend toward the ear (not up the temple) to create the illusion of width. Dust the contour shade across the middle of the forehead (about a quarter of the way down form the hairline) and along your chin.

Oval: to get a natural look. For daytime, simply apply blush to the apple for a pretty, flushed look. At night, you'll want to heighten the drama. "For an extra pop of color, apply blush on the tip of the nose and across the bridge."

I have a long/oval face so I usually apply my blush to the apples of my cheeks.

Hope this helps you whatever shape you have!

OPI Nevermore

Unrippen, Nevermore, Sanguine, Obscurity

So I tried those mini OPI polishes i got the other day and although "Nevermore" is a pretty dark blueish purple its a pretty crappy formula. I usually find OPI polishes to be quite good quality but this was a disappointment. It was streaky and hard to paint a nice even coat with the tiny brush. Glad i didnt have to pay that much for it.
