MAC Cosmetics is coming out with this collection in Spring 2011. As the name suggests, the line is inspired by denim.

I think my favorites from this collection are the eyeshadows and the nail varnish. I love the cute little denim detail on the shadows and the "Biker Blue" nail varnish with pink and electric blue shimmer! 

Ill probabaly pass on the blushers and lippies, from the pictures, the lippies and blushers look too gray and mauvey  for my skintone. But well see when then they come out!

I was on youtube and saw this video on a Physicans Formula blush that looks very similar to a blush by Stila. I havent tried either but they look almost identical to each other. Im not sure who came out first but the Stila one sells for $14 on their website and the Physicians Formula Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Blush (what a horrible long name) sells for $15.99 from their website! (:O? I thought PF was a drug store brand, why is it more $ than Stila??)

Anyone try these yet? or even seen them in stores?

Do you feel guilty after eating that whole pack of chocolate?

One of my favorite things in this world is DARK CHOCOLATE! :) It always makes me happy when I eat it. Probably from all the endorphins that are released from it? Here are some of my favorite "grocery store" kinds. They range between $2.50-$6.00 depending on if theyre on sale or not.

My favoritist out of this bunch has to be the 1848 Noir Cafe. It is sooo delicious! It is a dark chocolate with coffee and cocoa chips! However, if your unlucky like me and live in a cave like me (Cananda), I dont believe you can get your hands on this delicious treat :(! I believe its only sold in Europe and Asia, but dont quote me on that. Since I cant purchase this in Canada, I go to my second favorite - Lindt Excellence Orange Intense. It is filled with "soft and delicate orange pieces and crispy toasted almond slivers...There is a sweet cocoa flavour with orange and citrus overtones that finishes with a distinct bitter orange acidity" (Lindt, 2011). 


Its pretty awesome! and you know what? We don't need to feel guilty after stuffing our faces with dark chocolate, there are many health benefits from eating dark chocolate! You get antioxidants, called flavonoids in dark chocolate. Flavonoids are pigments found in dark vegetables and fruits which protect the body from aging caused by free radicals and prevent heart disease by decreasing your blood pressure and cholesterol. Pretty amazing benefits if you ask me! However, I'm not telling you guys to REALLY go stuff your faces with a pack of dark chocolate a day. Researchers recommend 6.3g (only 30 calories worth) a day to see benefits (CTV, 2007). So like everything else in this world, eat it in MODERATION.          

Perfect Imperfections

I stumbled across this gorgeous girls' Youtube one day and just started watching her OOTDs, makeup and hair tips. Yesterday, I came across her Perfect Imperfections tag and I was pretty shocked when I finished watching. Little did I know this beautiful girl who on the outside looks stylish, beautiful and appears to be sweet and talented had such little self confidence. In this 8 minute video she spent probably more than 6 minutes talking about how she thinks shes not thin enough, and how her nose is not perfect enough and how theres chub on her back!? and shes not even fat?! Shes 5'6 and 140lb! Thats a normal BMI of 22.6 (I know Im a geek for even calculating it). When i was watching this I was thinking are you kidding me? To me she looks stunning! Actually she resembles Christina Applegate.

I don't think I realize how many girls out there have these problems, as many comments below stated that they understood her and could relate to her. Of course I knew there are some people out there like that, but I would never imagine someone who looked like her and somewhat of a "beauty guru" on Youtube would ever have these thoughts? I guess I have always grown up with confidence... and I have no clue where it comes from as Im not pretty, smart or talented :P. Someone once told me I have too much!? (which I dont think but whatever).

Anways...off on a tangent there, I think all i want to say is that beauty comes from within. Although, that might be hard to believe on some occasions when you see models, celebrities and so forth put on their "made up" mask and all the sudden they do look a ton more appealing. I also get caught up in this world, as who doesn't want more radiant skin, beautiful bright eyes, a hot body, and some extra neurons up there? But as I age, I have started to accept that I will NEVER be as skinny or hot like Jessica Alba, or even some of my friends. But I think each and everyone of us has something special, no matter what we look like on the outside. Just realize that as age catches up with us, all we will have behind our wrinkled faces is our inner beauty shinning through.

Midnight Snack

One night after a long evening shift, I came home to nothing but a bag of spinach, eggs, tomatoes and shrimp. Then I thought why not make a salad! but unfortunately my salad dressing was expired :(!
So I made my own!

What I used for the sauce:
2-3 tablespoons of Terkiyaki Sauce
1/2 tablespoon of sesame sauce
Sprinkle of salt and pepper
Drizzle of olive oil
1 tsp of shrimp sauce (can omit if you cant find or don't like the taste)

Mix it all together and pour it on your salad topped with a handful of walnuts!
It was delicious!

Katy Perry for OPI

I was looking at nail polish the other day and I noticed that OPI has another new collection called "Katy Perry". The collection has 5 colors in total "Teenage Dream", "The One That Got Away", "Not like the Movies", "Last Friday Night" and "Shattered".

I love "Teenage Dream", a sparkley pink shade and "Shatter" a very unique deep, asphalt black with a "shattered" texture. 

The collection is quite interesting and I'm sure "Shattered" will fly off the shelfs in no time as there is nothing out there that is similar to it.

Do you Lilac It?

"Do you Lilac it?" one coat

I saw a sales girl wearing this where I usually buy OPI Nailpolish and she told me it was "Do you Lilac it?" by OPI. Its not usually a color I would wear but I kinda like it. Its not an over the top, in your face color but its not neutral or dark and its nice to have a hint of color on my nails.

What do you guys think? "Do you Lilac it?"

I am falling back into love with my Makeup Forever Waterproof Lengthening Mascara. I got it in a package a long time ago but didnt start using it till last year I think. But I LOVE IT!!

It makes my lashes super duper long! (Look at the right side (your left side))! It doesn't give much volume but I just layer a volumous mascara over it and it works fine or I just leave it! I think it looks pretty natural and its easy to put on and take off! No flaking, no smudging AND its waterproof! ME ♥ IT!

I cant seem to find it at Sephora anymore but the official Makeup Forever website still carries it ♥♥♥♥
Ill have to check it out the next time I see a MUF store, it comes in black, brown, purple and blue

Whats your favorite concealer?

Im running out of my concealer and looking for a new one. I am currently using Keven Beauty Maker BB Mineral Conceal Cream. Its ok, but when i get really dry skin it accentuates it ><.  I have previously tried the Guerlain issima precious light smoothing Illuminator and Maybelline dream mousse concealer. They're both soso, the Guerlain one would be much better if it didn't cost me a arm and a leg, the dream mousse concealer is not good for dry skin but great if you have somewhat oily skin. I also use BB creams, foundations to conceal but it just isnt enough sometimes.

I was thinking of the Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage which is suppose to "completely camouflages dark circles, minor imperfections and discolorations." I don't like that heavy I've got tons of makeup look and i hate concealers that crease because I have pretty dry skin and live in a SUPER DRY place!

Any suggestions?

Chicken wings recipe

This is one of my favorite flavors for making chicken wings, I have no idea what to call it but it has a semi sweet garlicy flavor. Its very easy and doesnt take long.

Cook time: 40-60 min depending on your oven

Ingredients

• Handful of red and white onions  
• 1 to 2 tablespoons of Lee Kum Kee Ground Bean Sauce 
  1 tablespoon Lee Kum Kee Oyster Sauce 
• 3 to 4 teaspoons Maggi sauce
• 1 tablespoon sesame oil
• Approximately 20-25 chicken wings

Directions

Put the ground bean sauce, oyster sauce, Maggi sauce and sesame oil into a big zip lock bag. Mince the onions and add to bag. Close the bag and shake to combine all the ingredients. 

Wash and dry the chicken wings. Using a fork puncture tiny holes into the chicken wings. 

Open the bag, drop in the chicken wings in the bag. Close and shake the bag to coat evenly. Marinate for about 1.5-2hours. 

Preheat oven to 500 degrees C. Cover the wings with a sheet of aluminum foil on top. Place into oven for approximately 20 minutes. Remove aluminum foil and toast the top until golden brown, flip wings oven as needed.

So I went to Walmart to return something and of course I have to walk by the beauty section to browse around. To my surprise I saw Justin Beibers face there. I have never been a big fan of him and I don't get why girls luv him so much... but thats besides the point. I was just questioning why is he even in the beauty section teaming up with OPI to make nailpolish? It seems a little odd... but I guess girls/women are the easiest to make $ off of?

Anyways, the collection is called "One Less Lonely Girl" and is part of the Nicole by OPI brand. There are 14 colors and to my surprise are quite pretty and glittery. I particularly like "One less Lonely Glitter", "My Lifesaver" and I wanna try  "Baby Blue" but I didnt get any yet but i should probably since Im sure theyll sell out sooon!
